I guess we can wrap things up for today and indeed the business week by taking a look at the last poll that was running on the MNO TalkBack<\/a> page over the last week or so. You might remember I was asking readers what kind of an entry level deposit they normally make when first starting out with a new program or first time investment. From years of contact with readers from all over the world and all sorts of financial means and backgrounds I think I’ve learnt a lot about diversity in the HYIP industry. Different people have different habits and strategies, and different ways to determine how much money they think certain programs are worth taking a gamble on. The other thing is how exactly you define \u201ca lot of money\u201d. Some folks can drop a thousand dollars and not be bothered, taking an \u201ceasy come easy go\u201d sort of attitude, whereas other people could find themselves in a whole heap of trouble if they lost $50 or even less. So, the question asked on the last opinion poll was this: What is your usual entry level deposit in a HYIP?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Results were predictable enough in terms of the actual positioning of the answers (i.e. first, second, third, etc). The number one reply was \u201cNever more than $100 to start with<\/em>\u201d which came in with 43%<\/strong> of the vote. I imagine in many cases this is due to financial constraints if you simply don’t have much more money you can afford to gamble with, while for others who might be able to afford it just prefer to lay low and check out how things go at the start. In second place 29%<\/strong> of you are a bit more daring but still by no means big spenders with your first deposit, giving the answer \u201cMy opening deposit is $100 to $300<\/em>\u201d. A further 21%<\/strong> of you get right down to the serious business right from day one, answering \u201cI normally invest from $300 to $1,000<\/em>\u201d. and the remaining 7%<\/strong> of readers prefer to throw caution to the wind with a devil-may-care reply of \u201cI invest bigger amounts, from $1,000<\/em>\u201d. It’s probably a good thing that this is such a minority approach. I mean it’s great if you can afford it and it pays off for you, but if everyone did it too many programs would overheat and fail to make investors repayments.<\/p>\n

We have a lot of diverse opinions there, but what about the level of diversity in your portfolios? No matter what language you speak I think everyone either knows or has a local equivalent of the expression \u201cnever put all your eggs in one basket<\/em>\u201d, and I’m sure you also know the importance of this in the HYIP industry. And it’s not really a question of not being able to afford more programs either, because it’s better to have $10 in ten good programs that $100 in a bad one. That way if any one single program collapses (as they all eventually do) then you don’t get hit with too much of a loss. That’s just a simple example by the way, I don’t necessarily mean you always need to have a minimum number such as ten, obviously that’s dependant on exactly how many good programs are out there at any given time, but my point is the same \u2013 don’t put too much money into too few programs. So the next question I want to ask readers on the MNO TalkBack<\/a> page here<\/strong><\/a> is as follows: How many programs do you have in your current HYIP portfolio?<\/strong><\/p>\n
